The time the printer waits between printing passes or after completing a print to allow ink to dry before the media is advanced or cut.
In-Depth Explanation
Adequate drying time prevents smearing, offset (ink transfer to the back of the next layer of rolled media), and color bleeding. DesignJet printers allow drying time to be adjusted in the print settings. Factors affecting drying time include: ink type, media type, ink coverage, ambient temperature, and humidity. Some models include heaters to accelerate drying.
