The dedicated processor controlling the user interface (UI) has become unresponsive. This causes the front panel display to freeze or become unresponsive to touch input.

Turn the printer off using the power button, then disconnect the power cord.

Wait for 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord and turn the printer on.

If the issue persists, attempt a firmware update via USB to ensure the UI software is up-to-date and not corrupted.
Model-Specific Notes: • T1700/Z9+: Check the UI flex cable connection to the formatter. A loose connection can sometimes mimic a freeze. • PageWide XL: Some models have a separate UI board. Verify its connection to the main formatter. Expert Insight: If a power cycle and firmware update don't resolve the issue, check for any external devices connected to the printer (USB drives, etc.) that might be interfering. If the UI remains frozen, the formatter board is the most likely culprit, as the UI processor and its associated memory are integrated.
