Scanner Calibration Failure

Use a lint-free cloth and glass cleaner (non-ammonia based) to clean both the scanner glass and the white strip thoroughly. Check for any scratches or damage on the strip itself. Expert Insight: The calibration strip provides a reference for the CIS sensor. If it's dirty or damaged, the scanner cannot establish a correct baseline. Ensure no direct sunlight or bright room lights are shining on the scanner during calibration, as this can interfere. If cleaning doesn't resolve it, check the scanner lamp (if applicable) for proper illumination. A faulty CIS sensor or scanner motor that causes erratic movement during calibration can also trigger this error. Verify the scanner's encoder strip is clean and intact.
