Carriage PCA Communication Error

Model-Specific Notes: • T-Series (e.g., T2600): The carriage flex cable is critical. Inspect it for creases, especially where it bends during carriage movement. Use an ESD-safe brush to clean contacts. • Z-Series (e.g., Z6810): These models often have multiple flex cables. Ensure all are properly seated. Sometimes, simply reseating the cable can resolve the issue. Expert Insight: Always perform this troubleshooting with the printer powered off and unplugged. When inspecting the flex cable, look for any signs of wear, tears, or discoloration, particularly near the connectors. A multimeter can be used to check for continuity across the individual traces of the flex cable, though this requires advanced skills. If the cable appears fine, the next logical step is to replace the flex cable, followed by the Carriage PCA, and finally the Main PCA, in that order, as they are progressively more expensive and complex to replace.
