Carriage Error: Carriage System Failure

This is a general critical error indicating a failure within the entire carriage system. The carriage cannot move or operate correctly.

• 2Damaged or worn carriage belt, leading to slippage or complete detachment.
• 3Encoder strip is dirty, scratched, or detached, causing the carriage to lose positional awareness.
• 4Obstruction in the carriage path (e.g., paper jam, foreign object) physically blocking movement.
• 5Defective trailing cable or main PCA, failing to transmit power or control signals to the carriage assembly.

• Printer displays error code 0x00C20002 on the front panel.
• Carriage remains stationary or attempts to move but makes grinding/stalling noises.
• Carriage moves erratically or only a short distance before stopping.
• Printer fails to initialize or complete the start-up sequence.
• Visible signs of damage to the encoder strip (e.g., tears, smudges) or carriage belt (e.g., fraying, looseness).

   Turn off the printer and unplug it. 2. Open the top cover and gently try to move the carriage manually. 3. Inspect the carriage path, encoder strip, and drive belt for obstructions or damage. 4. Plug in and restart the printer. If the error persists, service is required.
